Our Gold Refining Process: Step by Step
Step 1
Your scrap gold or other precious metals are placed in a graphite crucible, heated to over 2,000°F for efficient melting.
Step 2
Borax is added as a flux to separate dirt and non-metals, ensuring a cleaner melt.
Step 3
The gold is melted thoroughly for a homogeneous mixture, crucial for accurate sampling and assaying.
Step 4
A vacuum glass tube draws a sample from larger lots, cooled for purity assays.
Step 5
The molten gold is poured into molds, borax flux traps impurities, and the ingot is cleaned for final assay.
Step 6
Gold is assayed via pin sample or drilling bar; fast computerized or precise fire assay ensures trusted purity.
